Another exciting day of hiking by the cliffs brought us to the town of Dingboche. We would stay in Dingboche for two nights total for better acclimatization day to get ready for the final push for Everest Base Camp.
Did I say the only easy day was yesterday? It never gets easier or less dangerous… Like I said absolutely gorgeous view, but no handrails. Though worthy trade-off in my opinion.

Stunning view of Ama Dablam (6812m) wiped away the tiredness and fear.

At Lobuche, we had our first snow day. Better to have snow today than a few days later, I thought to myself. The snow continued throughout the afternoon, but I was due for an acclimatization walk. Acclimatization walk helps you to reduce the chances of getting headaches or loss of sleep due to gaining elevation. Even though we did not hike as high as we did on day 2, just a 100-meter walk up could help my body adjust.
An aerial shot of the town during my acclimatization walk. Dingboche in the mist. It snowed that day so we prayed for better weather for the next day.

After the snow, the weather next day turned out absolutely amazing. We also got a glimpse of the Island Peak which we were going climb in a few days! ( though it is still dwarfed by the giant Lhotse on the side…. XD) Can you pick out which one was the Island Peak?
