Phortse Village is not very far or very much higher than Khumjung. This provided another perfect day for acclimatization, looking at the numbers at least. However, in the Himalayas, the only easy day was yesterday. The trail to Phortse village is somewhat considered the most dangerous sections of our trek. Looking at this trail, it makes sense that it is less popular. I can’t imagine what would happen if this route gets any more populated.
The section of the walk pictured below have handrails. However, the majority of the walk did not. This was not for the faint-hearted. The danger was always there. One misstep, you might need a helicopter rescue.
