The day before our final push to the Everest Base Camp, we visited the memorial. Many names were familiar, Rob Hall, Scott Fischer, and the Sherpa famously stayed on top of Everest for 21 hours without any oxygen supply.
A beautiful backdrop serves to remind the trekker why these brave souls risked their lives.

Memorial for the Sherpa who broke the world record by summiting Everest twice in a week and staying 21 hours without oxygen. However, he died on the descend after breaking the later record. Our guide Nuru (pictured here along with the memorial) is also aspiring to break a world record on summiting Everest. Maybe we will see him on the papers someday,
