A little travel diary of Ruby. Make sure to check out the Highlight Reel!

The return to Lukla (2820m)

It has been a very fulfilling trip, time to pack up and go home. The day after our successful summit attempt, we packed up and headed down as fast as we could.

But this is trekking in Nepal, the only easy day was yesterday. As my guide, Nigma perfectly described: it’s like the top of a chocolate bar. Even while descending, you could still encounter many sections of uphill. Even though we were all fully acclimatized, the way down was not much easier. The Himalayas will truly make you earn your way back home.

We marched very fast but did manage to make time to visit the Tengboche Monastery, the biggest in the National Park. We were there just in time for the morning prayers and payers sang for the deceased. Sitting down on the mats, we spent a little bit of time enjoying the peacefulness of the monetary.
