Official day 1 of our trekking trip! Our guide, Ngima, made sure we can get on the very first round of flights to ensure our arrival to Lukla. He was right to do so. Lukla’s Tenzing Hillary airport boasts one of the harshest landing strips and landing conditions for the pilots.
Meeting up with rest of the trekking team including our second guide Nuru (who also happened to be Nigma’s brother, we set off for our trek. Day 1 was not hard. We were descending around 200m to reach the first town, Phakding. The walk was only meant to be a warm up to the next few days.
The famous hanging bridges drew some excitement along the way.
