I spent my last day in Quito cruising around the city as well as trying some local produce. I usually try not to consume any caffeine on higher altitudes to avoid long and frequent trips to the Baños. Having spent a lot of time on much higher altitude, I decided that I cannot leave Quito without trying their famed chocolate and coffee.

The waitress worked hard on this…
(Pacari 72% and 60% dark chocolate won the gold award in the world. As Ecuador export rose along with other flowers, the rose-flavored chocolate wasn’t shabby either.)

(Last meal was spent on top of the hill overlooking the entire town of Quito.)

The day after, I am headed to the famed Galapagos National Park. The first day was to visit the island of Santa Cruz. After meeting up with the rest of my group, we headed to the beach to get our first view of the Galapagos Iguanas, sharks, dolphins, and Stingrays.

La Playa Furioso

Iguanas by the iguana signs! Really hard to miss

The $10 kayaking was well worth it. For the 40 minutes that I paddled, I saw sharks, stingrays, and turtles. Some of the turtles even got up and close to my giant yellow fish(kayak) to breathe! Sadly, they were too fast for me to capture. If you ever get a chance to kayak in the Galapagos, definitely do it!

Miss all the marine animals, at least I could take a picture of my kayak and the bay.
